Yeon-Jul: Threads of Influence
Follow us to take a peak into K-fashion, influence, cultural interpretation with KPop Demon Hunters that our creators have weaved. This zine will take you to pre-1900’s Korea, 1900’s, 2000’s and onwards to enjoy and admire!
The original Haute Hunters fashion zine idea and the team to thank are listed here
연줄, Yeon-Jul: Threads of Influence will be a collaborative, free, printable—a digital release KPop Demon Hunters fanzine carrying over the existing to-be finished works of Haute Hunters. (The zine will be formatted as if it will be printed for a physical zine, and this zine can be printed on demand through online printing services like Mixam and Lulu). We made a new title to respect the original vision in case the Haute Hunters team wants to re-launch and carry the name's more high-end fashionable vision in the future. Currently a lot of our work is centered on KPop Demon Hunters and Korean fashion through the centuries.연줄(Yeon-Jul) in Korean can mean a few different things depending on context/Hanja lettering;
1) 인연이 닿는 길. A road/thread of human/interpersonal connection
2) Networking/influence
3) One's background/bloodline
4) String for a kiteAs KPop Demon Hunters’ interpersonal connection of the girls and Honmoon-Hunters' legacy repeats and influences all eras—and as "threads" are used to make clothing anyway; we thought the meaning would be well adaptable to what we have from Haute Hunters to carry over. Also in older times of Korea we have a tradition of flying kites and cutting them loose into the sky for letting go of any misfortune and wishing good luck to come!

RicMod Role: Lead / Art modLinks: Carrd, TumblrBorn and raised South Korean living abroad! I love overthinking about plots and characters, the implied generational trauma of being a Hunter any how that can be a metaphor for a lot of ethnical/cultural struggles in the real world is what really gets me sobbing on the floor about KPDH.

PeachesMod Role: Organization / Writing modLinks: Bluesky, TumblrI love history in general and have been to South Korea twice! I have a particular fascination with Old Korea, particularly Joseon Era and Three Kingdoms Era Korea. I love that KPDH really helped start conversations on what true collectivist culture looks like to new audiences, and what mental health looks like from an Asian perspective.

LiMod Role: Cultural sensitivity / co-Writing modLinks: BlueskyMy connection to Korea began with loved ones, then deepened via martial arts and university study. Musician by hobby, and I loveee the little story details and character building in KPDH (honmoon music era montage my beloved).
